Junior Infants January Update
We were so happy to come back to school after the Christmas break and share all of our exciting Christmas news with our friends! We have been working so hard learning lots of new letters and their sounds, and practising how to form our letters and numbers too. We've been giving our busy hands a great workout!
Our classroom has been full of kindness and care, with lots of group hugs showing the love, friendship and kindness in our Junior Infants classroom!
We got very creative this month and made some beautiful winter art, including snowmen melted and in snowy globes. We also went on a school colour hunt and spotted colours everywhere! Using different materials, we created bright and beautiful colour wheels.
In P.E., we had great fun practising jumping and underarm throwing, playing games with hula hoops, and Kerry even taught us some new gymnastics moves! We loved moving our bodies and trying our best!
Our classroom was full of imagination during Aistear time as we played in the Post Office and the Weather Station. There was all sorts of crazy weather in the Junior Infants classroom, from sunshine to raining tacos!
We were very lucky to have Kildare Wildlife visit our school to teach us all about hedgehogs. We learned lots of interesting facts and really enjoyed searching for and meeting our special teddy visitors.
We also celebrated Catholic Schools Week by learning about gratitude, praying together, and celebrating Grandparents Day. We made our grandparents beautiful hand-printed flowers to show how much we care. We learned about St. Brigid too and created our own gorgeous St. Brigid’s cloaks.
What a busy and brilliant month we had - well done, Junior Infants!
