Junior Infants March Update
March was an incredibly busy and exciting month in Junior Infants, filled with fun, creativity, and lots of learning!
We kicked things off by opening our very own Garden Centre during Aistear. The children loved exploring with windmills and insects in the sand, while linking their play to our SESE work on plants and the different parts of a plant.
We had great fun celebrating World Book Day, with fantastic costumes supported by our wonderful parents. A big well done to Calvin, who was our class winner for his brilliant Scarecrows’ Wedding costume!
Seachtain na Gaeilge brought lots of energy to our classroom. We learned some Irish dancing and proudly performed in the hall. Comhghairdeas to Joey, our Gaeilgeoir na Seachtaine!
It was also a very creative month. The children made beautiful Mother’s Day cards, colourful shamrocks and rainbows for St. Patrick’s Day, and used chalk and silhouettes to design lovely Easter rabbits.
We were very lucky to enjoy not one, but two Easter egg hunts organised by the Parents’ Association, as well as a special mini hunt in our classroom before the holidays - there was great excitement all around!
A highlight of the month was a visit from the Maynooth Access Group. The children were fascinated by the Lego world they created and learned valuable lessons about diversity and inclusion.
To finish off a fantastic month, we visited the Autism class, where all of the Junior Infants came together to perform dances. A big thank you to Ms. Conroy for such a warm and fun visit!
We are so proud of all the children for their enthusiasm and effort throughout March. We’re already looking forward to another fun-filled month ahead!
