Junior Infants November Update
What a busy and exciting month we’ve had in Junior Infants!
We started November by preparing for our vaccinations through Doctor’s Role Play, where Teddy proved to be the best patient in the whole classroom! Science Week brought lots of excitement too, with hands-on experiments and a very special visit from a robot dog, which the children absolutely loved.
Our supermarket also opened its doors this month. The children have had great fun shopping, spending their money, and taking turns as shopkeepers and customers. In literacy, we’ve been playing lots of lively phonological awareness games using our new favourite fly swatters.
We’re also getting ready for our Nativity and can’t wait to perform for our families very soon.
We had a lovely celebration for Mollie’s 5th birthday, which made our month extra special.
Our story of the month was Handa’s Surprise. We explored the fruits, animals, and learned lots about Africa, comparing it to Ireland. And with the cold weather creeping in, the children designed their very own cosy winter jumpers and hat, preparing for winter!
We also learned how important procedural writing and clear instructions are by making a jam sandwich… and let’s just say Ms. O’Toole ended up with jammy fingers! We also danced our way through November in PE, becoming the silliest and giggliest musical statues you’ve ever seen.
It’s been a month full of learning, imagination, and giggles. We're excited for a Christmas takeover during December!
