Second & Third Class March Update
March has been a busy and creative month in our classroom, filled with a wide variety of engaging activities across all subjects.
In English, the children have been focusing on persuasive writing. They explored how to create catchy slogans and designed their own advertisements, using persuasive language to convince their audience. It was great to see their creativity and confidence grow as they presented their ideas.
In Irish, we have been learning about Lá Fhéile Pádraig and An Cháisc. The children have been building their vocabulary and practising speaking through discussions, activities, and themed lessons related to these important celebrations.
Art has been particularly vibrant this month. The children created beautiful shamrock artwork using pointillism, carefully applying dots of colour to create detailed designs. They also designed Easter eggs with chicks, explored chalk rubbing techniques, and spent time gardening, which gave them a chance to connect with nature and observe growth firsthand.
In Science, we carried out a fun and messy experiment by making oobleck. The children were fascinated by this unusual substance, exploring how it behaves as both a liquid and a solid. It was a fantastic hands-on way to investigate materials and their properties.
Overall, it has been a lively and productive month, full of creativity, learning, and fun experiences for everyone.
