Senior Infants February Update
2nd Mar 2026
In Senior Infants, we have been having lots of fun exploring the farm. We now have a great bunch of farmers who can collect eggs from the chicken coop, rake all of the straw and match the farm animals to their babies!
We learned about different types of farms and we also made fabulous booklets of farm animals and their babies so that we could then use them to quiz each other!
This month, we read the story of The Ugly Duckling and then we learned lots of facts about swans. In history, we learned what a legend is and listened to our first legend, "The Children of Lir". We then made our own little story books of The Children of Lir accompanied by some beautiful swan creations.
We also have some great mathematicians in Senior Infants! It is wonderful to see the children actively using their maths. We have been using many different items to compare the length, height and width of different objects, we have been comparing the capacity of different items (this can get messy!) and also learning all about the number 9.
Our writing is coming along great too and we are getting more confident each week at writing our news independently. Ms. Kenna and Ms. Monahan are very proud of all of the children in senior infants!
