Senior Infants May Update

3rd Jun 2026
Senior infants went "Down Under" this month as they learned all about Australia! The weather that we had last week really helped us get into the Australian spirit too!

We learned all about the amazing animals found in Australia: We learned that wombats are marsupials and they have cube-shaped poop! We learned that a platypus is one of the only mammals that lays eggs, we learned that koalas spend most of their days sleeping and that kangaroos can balance on their tails and are very good at boxing!

We also got creative and made some fabulous Barrier Reef dioramas as well as trying our best to play a didgeridoo. This was lots of fun!!

We were delighted to welcome Hailey's mum, Annamaria into the classroom earlier in the month to teach us some Australian slang! If any children in senior infants ever decide to venture as far as Australia some day, they will settle in very quickly with their knowledge of these words and phrases used in Australia!

The children were very excited to welcome their parents, guardians and relatives into their classroom to show off all of their hard work! Thank you for making the time to visit and appreciate all of the hard work that the children put into this project. We are very proud of them and of all they have learned.
